About UsThe Calgary Safety Council is a non-profit, non-government charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of safety and the prevention of injuries and fatalities on the streets and highways, in the home and work place. Often mistaken for a department of the City of Calgary, the Calgary Safety Council's formation as an autonomous organization was initiated over 50 years ago as a result of vehicle safety checks.
MembershipsThe membership of the Calgary Safety Council represents all major sectors of industry, business, government and volunteer agencies, as well as individuals with personal interest in safety promotion and accident prevention. FundingThe Calgary Safety Council is supported by revenue through courses, programs, and fund raising activities including special events and donations from the private and corporate sector. 100% or your donation and membership stays in the Calgary area.
ProgramsSAFETY CITY a miniature city complete with streets, traffic lights, railroad crossings and classrooms. Book your school ECS and grade one students for a visit Safety City for an hour and half program in which they participate both as drivers and pedestrians to experience the possible hazards of the street. Children learn how to cross the street at traffic lights and corners.
